Daniela Garza Maldonado is a visual artist, photographer, and creative director based in New York City. Blending fine art with strategic storytelling, she leads Visual Protocol as Chief Creative Officer while continuing to explore identity, intimacy, and culture through her lens.
Daniela Garza Maldonado is a Mexican visual artist, photographer, and creative entrepreneur based in New York City. As the Chief Creative Officer and Co-founder of Visual Protocol, she brings over a decade of experience across editorial, advertising, media, and visual arts—merging strategy and storytelling to create sophisticated brand narratives. She holds an MA in Strategic Communication from Baruch College and completed the New Media Narratives program at the International Center of Photography, where she deepened her inquiry into how images construct identity, intimacy, and memory.
Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, she began her career by establishing a successful photography studio and completing formative studies through CONARTE’s pioneering art programs. Her work has been exhibited in Mexico and New York and featured internationally. She has received fellowships and awards from ICP, FONCA, and CONARTE, and her images often explore the tension between the personal and the public, drawing from pop culture, politics, and the quiet poetry of everyday life.
In addition to her artistic and editorial work, she is an accomplished wedding photographer, documenting celebrations across Mexico and abroad for over ten years. With a background in graphic design and a fine art approach, she blends portraiture, landscape, and detail-driven storytelling to capture weddings with documentary sensitivity and contemporary style. Whether photographing people, places, or brands, she brings clarity, emotion, and vision to everything she creates.
While leading Visual Protocol as a strategic and creative force, she continues to expand her photographic practice—balancing entrepreneurial leadership with a deep, ongoing commitment to visual storytelling.
